Breeze Begins Nonstop Service From Tri-Cities to Washington D.C.

Tri-Cities Airport (TRI) marked another milestone this week as Breeze Airways launched its new nonstop service to Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD). The inaugural flight departed on Monday, December 15, at 1:56 p.m., expanding the region’s direct access to the nation’s capital.

Community partners, local leaders, and airport staff joined Breeze for a celebration and ribbon cutting to commemorate the occasion. Representatives from the area Chambers of Commerce and BRIDGE Regional were present to welcome the new service and highlight the regional support that helped make it possible.

“We’re excited to connect our region directly to the Washington, D.C. market with this new Breeze service,” said Gene Cossey, Tri-Cities Airport President & CEO, “Access to IAD opens the door to a wide range of opportunities for business, leisure, and international travelers. It’s a meaningful addition for our community, and we’re proud to see TRI continue to grow with service that supports both local travelers and our region’s economy.”

The addition of IAD offers travelers a smooth, local connection to Washington, D.C., while also opening one-stop access to many global destinations through Dulles’ international network. The new route underscores the impact of flying local and the community backing that will continue to bring new options to the region.
