TRI Reopens Donation Drive to Support TSA Employees

The Tri-Cities Airport Authority is relaunching its donation drive to support local Transportation Security Administration (TSA) employees affected by the ongoing partial federal government shutdown.

TSA officers at Tri-Cities Airport (TRI) continue to report to work each day to keep passengers safe and travel running smoothly, despite not receiving pay during this time. To support these essential workers, TRI has reestablished a donation collection point at the Airport Services Counter inside the terminal.

Donations will be accepted 24/7 and will directly benefit TSA employees and their families. Items most needed include:

  • Food and gas gift cards ($20 or less)
  • Non-perishable food & snacks
  • Toiletries & personal care items
  • Baby & pet supplies

TSA leadership will distribute donations confidentially to ensure they reach employees most in need. Any remaining items will be donated to local community organizations.

Businesses and members of the community are encouraged to participate in any way they can. Even small donations can make a big difference for TSA employees continuing to serve during this challenging time.

Larger donations such as meals, gift vouchers, or bulk supplies can be coordinated directly through the airport by contacting Gabe Sherrill at gsherrill@flytri.com.
